A House Portrait from Florham Park, New Jersey

by Jennifer Skopp

A Florham Park, NJ man commissioned Jennifer Skopp to create a Watercolor House Portrait of his longtime neighbors’ house. They were moving and this was to be their going away gift. He wanted me to include their dog, Sunny, in the Home Portrait.

This house is wide. The white front door is all the way on the left and it has two narrow vertical windows. The door has one sidelight on the right. There are two, brick steps that lead to the front door.

Most of the house is brick, except for the section to the right of the main entrance, which has white siding. There is a Picture window with two Single-Hung windows on the sides. To the right of the section with the siding, is a smaller Single-Hung window with white shutters.

Above the those three sections is a black Pitched roof. There are two Dormer windows. That is the only part of the house that has an upper level.

To the right of the section with the window with shutters, is another window with white shutters. The two garages with white doors, are connected to the right side of the house.

A stone path begin at the main entrance and then bends to the right and leads to the driveway. There are various shrubs, small trees, and flowers that run parallel to the front of the house.
