A Portrait of Community Animal Hospital from Morris Plains, NJ

by Jennifer Skopp

A veterinarian hired Jennifer Skopp to paint this Watercolor Portrait of Community Animal Hospital to hang in her office.

The building is wide and is colored yellow-ochre. Most of Community Animal Hospital is on the ground floor, but there is a second floor that is only above the center part of the building and is covered with brown shingles. On the left side of the entrance there is the symbol of veterinary medicine, which is called the Staff of Aesculapius. The name of the hospital appears on the right side of the building in brown letters. There is a row of shrubs in front of the building on the left and right side of the main entrance. To the right of the entrance there is a rectangular, raised flower bed that juts out. A beautiful Japanese Maple tree is the first thing a visitor would see. The walls of the raised flower bed is covered with large gray stones. The tops of trees are visible, which are in back of building.
